Dr Eric Marcotte is Associate Director for the Institute of Genetics (IG) and the Institute of Neurosciences, Mental Health and Addiction (INMHA) of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) - Canada's major funding agency for health research. Dr. Marcotte holds a PhD in Medical Sciences from McMaster University (1998). Following post-doctoral work at McGill University, Dr. Marcotte served for several years as a biotechnology analyst in the investment sector. Dr Marcotte was recruited to CIHR in 2003 to establish the Regenerative Medicine and Nanomedicine Initiative, one of the agency's inaugural Major Strategic Initiatives. Since 2010, Dr Marcotte has been the strategic lead for the Canadian Epigenetics, Environment and Health Research Consortium (CEEHRC), one of the current Signature Initiatives of CIHR. Dr Marcotte serves as the CIHR representative on the International Mouse Phenotyping Consortium (IMPC) and the International Human Epigenome Consortium (IHEC). He is currently the Chair of the IHEC Executive Committee.
